  3. @Ranjan,

For each of the college, it's different for different categories of students i.e. if you've finished your graduation from Mumbai University, then it would require a different rank and a different cutoff than if you've studied from outside Maharashtra.

I'll soon come up with previous years' detailed cutoffs for different categories of students.

  23. Manish, IILM Noida is a good option. But, you should try for colleges like Alliance, Christ,SIES, BIMM before trying for IILM. They are better options in my view.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @manish
Adding to haresh sir's point....IILM-GSM accept only CAT score for its flagship prog. i.e PGDM and takes MAT for Sectoral..so its always better to do PGDM rather than any Sectoral Prog.

  25. sir,

I want to ask that is there is a lot of difference between MMS and PGDBM course under MAH CET.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Anonymous,

There are mainly three top colleges where both MMS and PG courses exist: Sydenham (SIMSREE), K J Somaiya (SIMSR) and Welingkar.

There is not much difference between the courses as far as course content, professors etc are concerned. As far as I know, there's hardly any difference in the way students of PG and MMS are placed.

One of the few differences is the obvious one which is that you don't get a Master's degree in PG courses.

  52. Hey its pawan and i have got 591 as a composite score in mat dec 2010....
well i have a big confusion that which one is better MBA or PGDM..??

    ReplyDelete
  53. @Anonymous,

You have good chances of getting into almost all of the top b-schools mentioned above. You can definitely get into one of them provided you perform well enough in GDPIs.

    All the best!

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Pawan,

There is no apparent difference between PGDM and MBA (or for that matter between PGDBM, PGDBA, PGPM, etc and MBA/MMS, etc) except very minor issues like possible difference in syllabus, etc which don't matter much. So, in a way, PGDM and MBA is almost the same in every sense if it's from the same college except that you don't get a Masters degree in PGDM. Some colleges running both the courses are known to give PGDM students more priority than MMS when it comes to placements.

In corporate world, it doesn't matter if it's PGDM or MBA or PGDBM or whatever.

I hope this solves your doubts :-)
